                               ON SITE SAFETY

We hope that you will have an amazing time with us, we love where we live and enjoy sharing that with others.

We hope that by working together than we can ensure your own safety and that of others around you, visitors and members of staff.

Usually any incidents that occur on campsites is due in the main to such issues as:

  • Lack of concentration when using equipment

  • Being worst for wear regarding the use of alcohol

  • Not supervising children when on site

  • A lack of supervision regarding fires or BBQs

  • Gas bottles which are incorrectly connected

  • Throwing hot coals into the hedges

  • Inconsideration of people pitched within a close vicinity of ones own tent

  • Leaving gas heaters running through the night

  • Playing ball games close to other peoples tents

  • Not taking into account overhead cables when playing ball games or flying kites

  • Going into buildings which are clearly out of bounds

  • Driving too fast on site (which is a maximum of 5mph)

  • Not using a torch during dusk and dark times.

With animals and equipment around our site it is important that individuals:

  • Supervise children at all times (do not assume that they will be ok on their own)

  • Take care around tents and motorhomes due to trip hazards

  • Use torches after dusk and during dark periods

  • Should not throw ash, coals or alike in the hedgerows or grassed area (metal wheel barrows are placed near the gates for them to go into)

  • Keep dogs on leads on site and on footpaths and bridleways (due to animals being about)

  • Do not feed any animals without supervision as you may think you are being kind but it can quite easily kill an animal.  Also our horses love to see people with food and when they have you in their sites they are most likely to join you in your tent as food is a big draw for them (especially our Blye who is a natural greedy guts.  We do have evening feeding times please ask to join us)

  • Use common sense when using facilities or operating equipment (such as cookers, camp fires, kettles gas stoves, etc.)

  • Do not enter any of the buildings around the farm except for those authorised

  • Wear appropriate footwear for the weather and for the conditions on site

  • Do not ride push bikes around the site when other people are on site

  • Send children into fields to play other than those pointed out to you on your arrival

  • Inform us if you are leaving the site earlier than your planned departure date
